Genniser’s Youth Guidelines

They committed themselves to the teaching of the apostles, the life together, the common meal, and the prayers. Everyone around was in awe—all those wonders and signs done through the apostles! And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common. They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person’s need was met. They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.” Acts 2:42-47 (The Message)

This was the picture of the early church. It is a good word for the Church, but not one that is exclusive to the adults of the Church.

Cornerstone has been very blessed over the years with a Children’s Ministry Leadership, committed to seeing children grow in faith. God has honored that commitment, having seen so many children grow under the guidance of faithful, dedicated workers.

As we enter 2008, we have an understanding of new challenges for these precious children. Changes in family dynamics, distractions of the world infecting even younger ages, and the decline of family values have proven to change the shape of our children.

It is clear, now more than ever, that we need to provide support and guidance for growth for these children, just as the early church provided for its people.

Pray with us that our Children’s Ministries would provide a place…

…to discover God’s Truth - where children can get excited about learning God’s Word!

…they committed themselves to the teaching of the apostles, the life together, the

common meal, and the prayers…

…to fit in to God’s Family – where children can unite with other Christian friends

…and all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common…

…to share God’s Love – where children can learn to share about the Love of God!

…they sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person’s need was met…

…to celebrate God’s Power – where children can honor God through their praises

…they followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God…

…to minister to God’s People – where children can get excited about serving God!
…every day their number grew as God added those who were saved!
May God bless our efforts as we continue to commit to seeing our Children grow in their faith!
